FSBO (For Sale By Owner)

For Sale By Owner Properties (FSBOs). I’m not here to bash on the renaissance woman or man that is not afraid of a challenge. Someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty; to branch out and try doing a little trade work themselves to avoid the costs of hiring a professional. I’ve been there. I’ve had my dryer spread out all over my garage floor with a YouTube video pulled up on how to replace the heating element.

We’ve Got 99 Problems … and Low Inventory is All of Them

We’ve Got 99 Problems … and Low Inventory is All of Them

So what does low inventory mean? To answer that, we’ll jump to the most basic of economic principles: Supply and Demand. Generally speaking, when supply goes up, demand goes down. Inversely, When supply goes down, demand goes up. Now, obviously, like anything, it is not entirely that cut and dry. Warren Buffet has a quote “If you cannot control your emotions, you cannot control your money.” That is very true, from my experience in this industry and others. If a person can elicit an emotional response from you from their words or actions, they can control you. I’m just trying to effectively illustrate the difference in the power of the dollar between 1980 and now. If we can surmise that it is, in fact, more difficult to save money now than it was in 1980, great. If we can’t, great. Either way, I am going to learn a WHOLE lot through writing this and I hope you can at least learn a little from reading it.

Tips for Showing an Occupied Home

Tips for Showing an Occupied Home

But for some reason, this one day, in this one house, my daughter (after months of viewing homes, mind you) says “Can we not be in people’s houses we’re not supposed to be in anymore?”

I was kind of shocked, but I mostly thought it was just hilarious that she was thinking that she had just been complicit in a string of nonviolent breaking and enterings over the past several months and that her dad was just this nice deluded man who enjoyed the thrill of walking his mom through other people’s homes.
