What Our Students Say:
My mother had always told me that I should get my real estate license. She’s been a Realtor with a large home builder for a long time and my grandmother was a Realtor too, so she just knew it was “in my blood.” I finally conceded to venture out of the non-profit world thy my entire career had been in, just to test the waters… but mostly to appease my mother. I took the pre-license course that was led by Steve Oliver, and I was immediately hooked.
His classes were fun and interesting! The guest teachers that he brought in shared their real life experiences and I just couldn’t get enough. Immediately upon getting my license, I went straight through and knocked out my post-license too. Before I knew it, I was making more money than I would have ever dreamed of making and was finally my own boss. I’m a busy mom of two boys and my husband encouraged me to quit my full time job and go into real estate full time instead. I now have a team of four, full-time agents and I’m consistently referred to as a “top producer” by my Brokerage. I have no doubt that none of this would have been possible without the guidance and support of the Oklahoma Real Estate Academy. The Oliver Family and their staff are without a doubt the absolute best real estate advocates and educators in this industry. They not only teach their students how to pass the tests required, but they teach them how to make careers and how to do it all ethically. My family and I will be forever grateful to the academy and to the Oliver’s
A native of Dallas, Texas, I received my Bachelor’s in Business Administration from John Brown University. I now reside in Tulsa, Oklahoma with my wife of 13 years and our two amazing daughters, ages 7 and 10.
I entered the Real Estate game and joined Coldwell Banker Select in 2016. Since starting my time in real estate, I’ve accumulated $20M+ in sales, hundreds of new friends, and roughly 7 mortal enemies.
My Real Estate story ALL started with Oklahoma Real Estate Academy. I am so thankful to Steve Oliver and his team of experienced instructors. Not only did I feel prepared to take the Oklahoma Real Estate License exam, I felt prepared to start a career. Going through a class and navigating a new career are very different experiences. Fortunately, the Oklahoma Real Estate Academy filled me with the confidence and excitement to succeed at both!
I was very fortunate to be a Stay-At-Home-Mom for 8 years before getting into Real Estate. Once my kids were all in school, I knew I wanted a job that I could be flexible in, but also excel in without limitation. My father has been a Realtor my whole life and has encouraged me to get my license for years. Being the rebel that I am, I resisted my dad’s advice until I realized it fit all the criteria of what I was looking for in a career.

GET YOUR LICENSE
So, you’ve got your license, but now what? If you’re not getting the appropriate training, this can be a really scary job. In our post license course, we teach you everything from how to explain a contract to a client, to how to structure your business plan appropriately in preparation for your first tax season as an independent contractor.
The life of a real estate agent can be filled with meaningful conversations. From helping someone buy their very first home, to helping someone fulfill their dream of building passive wealth through real estate investments, a real estate agent can achieve great job satisfaction through helping others obtain their dreams. But what if you could do all of that AND help a person realize their dreams of becoming a real estate agent? This is the class that can make that a reality.
I’ll attempt to shed some light on the material facts of the situation. I’m not here to speculate as to what someone spends their money on. And I’m not pointing fingers at any particular generation. I’m just trying to effectively illustrate the difference in the power of the dollar between 1980 and now. If we can surmise that it is, in fact, more difficult to save money now than it was in 1980, great. If we can’t, great. Either way, I am going to learn a WHOLE lot through writing this and I hope you can at least learn a little from reading it.
But for some reason, this one day, in this one house, my daughter (after months of viewing homes, mind you) says “Can we not be in people’s houses we’re not supposed to be in anymore?”
I was kind of shocked, but I mostly thought it was just hilarious that she was thinking that she had just been complicit in a string of nonviolent breaking and enterings over the past several months and that her dad was just this nice deluded man who enjoyed the thrill of walking his mom through other people’s homes.
The Oklahoma Real Estate Academy is a gentle place to land if you are seeking a real estate license. We are empathetic to every kind of struggler who is dreaming of making a different life for themselves and we love being part of the dream. We have become a rescue school for many who have taken the course through other institutions whose only contact with the student was at enrollment. We will be there for you through the entirety of your process, we are just a bunch of hand-holders who enjoy the walk with our students.
