OREA’s pre-license course covers a vast amount of information; information on differing industries like appraisals, contract law, surveying, finance, environmental concerns, hazardous substances, insurance, title/estate proceedings, trust procedures, etc. It’s not an easy course, but luckily our instructors excel at tying all of this information together and delivering it to our students in a way they can relate to.

So, you’ve got your license, but now what? If you’re not getting the appropriate training, this can be a really scary job. In our post license course, we teach you everything from how to explain a contract to a client, to how to structure your business plan appropriately in preparation for your first tax season as an independent contractor.

Continuing education is a requirement for all licensees in the great state of Oklahoma. It’s often associated with words like “mandatory”, “perfunctory”, and “required.” While it is all of those things, it doesn’t have to feel like a chore. We’ve made our CE courses to be digestible and informative while also fulfilling OREC regulations.

Jessica Wilbourn
My mother had always told me that I should get my real estate license. She’s been a Realtor with a large home builder for a long time and my grandmother was a Realtor too, so she just knew it was “in my blood.” I finally conceded to venture out of the non-profit world thy my entire career had been in, just to test the waters… but mostly to appease my mother.
I took the pre-license course that was led by Steve Oliver, and I was immediately hooked. His classes were fun and interesting! The guest teachers that he brought in shared their real life experiences and I just couldn’t get enough. Immediately upon getting my license, I went straight through and knocked out my post-license too. Before I knew it, I was making more money than I would have ever dreamed of making and was finally my own boss. I’m a busy mom of two boys and my husband encouraged me to quit my full time job and go into real estate full time instead. I now have a team of four, full-time agents and I’m consistently referred to as a “top producer” by my Brokerage.
I have no doubt that none of this would have been possible without the guidance and support of the Oklahoma Real Estate Academy. The Oliver Family and their staff are without a doubt the absolute best real estate advocates and educators in this industry. They not only teach their students how to pass the tests required, but they teach them how to make careers and how to do it all ethically. A native of Dallas, Texas, I received my Bachelor’s in Business Administration from John Brown University. I now reside in Tulsa, Oklahoma with my wife of 13 years and our two amazing daughters, ages 7 and 10.
I entered the Real Estate game and joined Coldwell Banker Select in 2016. Since starting my time in real estate, I’ve accumulated $20M+ in sales, hundreds of new friends, and roughly 7 mortal enemies.
My Real Estate story ALL started with Oklahoma Real Estate Academy. I am so thankful to Steve Oliver and his team of experienced instructors. Not only did I feel prepared to take the Oklahoma Real Estate License exam, I felt prepared to start a career. Going through a class and navigating a new career are very different experiences. Fortunately, the Oklahoma Real Estate Academy filled me with the confidence and excitement to succeed at both!
Amanda Fraley
I was very fortunate to be a Stay-At-Home-Mom for 8 years before getting into Real Estate. Once my kids were all in school, I knew I wanted a job that I could be flexible in, but also excel in without limitation. My father has been a Realtor my whole life and has encouraged me to get my license for years. Being the rebel that I am, I resisted my dad’s advice until I realized it fit all the criteria of what I was looking for in a career.
As much as I hate to admit it, my dad was right. Looking back, I wish I would have got my license as soon as I turned 18!
When looking for classes, I found Oklahoma Real Estate Academy and from the moment I walked in that it was the right fit. The instructors are amazing and genuinely love the industry. They take the time to make sure you understand the material and have many stories from their experience they share. After passing the Pre-License Course, I was able to pass my State Real Estate Exam on the first try! I went right back to OREA for my Post-Licensing.
Real Estate has opened the doors for me in so many ways. I’ve grown as a Realtor over the last 5 years, with around $10 Million in total sales throughout my career. Each client and home offers a new opportunity to learn things you never knew you needed to know, like how many layers are on the roof and what type of loan a mobile home qualifies for.
After a few years in the business, I decided to go back to get my Brokers License. OREA was my hero again, getting me prepared and ready to take my Brokers State Exam! Now, as a Licensed Brokers-Associate in the State of Oklahoma, I can honestly say, Oklahoma Real Estate Academy has built the foundation for my career. The relationships, experience, and knowledge you walk away from there with will last a lifetime!
